Sri Lankan Authorities and Indian Coast Guard are working hand-in-hand in extinguishing the fire onboard the X-Press Pearl Container Ship, which is engulfed in fire, since 20th May, 2021.
Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is also deploying the Dornier aircraft sorties, from India everyday, for the daily aerial report of the massacre. The operation is round the way, since 25th May, 2021.
It is being reported, that the fire is retreating slowly, and there are increasing signs of the fire being under control. Further, the authorities have confirmed, that the hull of MV X-Press Pearl is intact, and that there are no reports of oil spill into the port’s waters.
There are currently three ICG vessels, combating the fire, namely, Samudra Prahari, Vaibhav & Vajra.
