Chinese Chemical Tanker Ulsan Pioneer collided with Japanese cargo ship Byakko, off Imabari, Ehime prefecture, Japan, on 28th May, 2021. Where three crew members went missing.
Search operations have been going on since Friday. The Chinese chemical tanker had 13 crew onboard, while the Japanese cargo ship had 12.
The Japanese cargo ship sank early on Friday, with three crew members missing. Namely, Captain Tamotsu Sato, 66, First Engineer Yuki Ogawa, 27, and Second Engineer Takahiro Uehata, 22. The other nine were rescued by the Japanese Coast Guard, and another private containership, which was nearby.
Out of the three missing, one was found in the state of cardiopulmonary arrest, on Sunday, by the coast guard.
