Sinogas Orders World’s Largest VLGC

Australia-based energy company Sinogas has ordered the LPG-powered world’s largest Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGCs) which is going to be delivered from China in 2023. The capacity of the vessel is 93,000 cu m and its price has not been disclosed yet.

The designing of the new Panda 93P VLGC has been done by Jiangnan Shipyard with Sinogas as first customers, opting for two firm orders and three options. The design includes two deck-mounted LPG fuel tanks, allowing LPG-fuelled operations while carrying non-LPG cargo

Hu Keyi, Jiangnan Shipyard’s chief of corporate technology, mentioned: “Through a revolutionary structural configuration, Jiangnan has been able to enhance cargo capacity within traditional Houston Ship Channel dimensions without significantly increasing fuel consumption.”
