The Port of Shanghai has posted a new record high volume of 4.32 million TEU, which is a new monthly-record for the world’s busiest port.

This figure has exceeded the previous record of monthly container volume, which was 4.2 million during the month of October, last year (2021)
The fourth phase of the Yangshan automated terminal at the Shanghai Port was put to operation during August 2021, while the Shanghai port empty container transportation centre too, opened up last month. These have contributed to setting the new record, by improving the operating efficiency of the Port of Shanghai.
