China’s Ningbo-Zhoushan port has retained the first place in the list of world’s top cargo handling ports for the 13th consecutive year after registering a cargo throughput of 1.22 trillion tons in 2021, therefore marking an increase of 4.4% year-on-year.

Ningbo-Zhoushan port’s container volume was 31.08 million TEU, up 8.2% year-on-year, thus becoming the world’s third busiest container port following Shanghai and Singapore.
Ningbo-Zhoushan port was connected by 287 shipping services at the end of 2021, with 27 recently put in comparing with the number at the end of 2020, among which 117 routes are servicing China’s Belt and Road Initiatives.
